...even when the concept of RUSH is taken to dizzying new heights! Our client, a renowned national art museum, contacted Whitmore six days before Memorial Day to request the production of 5,000 copies of a 60-page, wire-o-bound books with a glued pocket. 500 of which were needed for a 3:00 pm. meeting the Tuesday after Memorial Day. Our team was up for the challenge! Our plan was to get files on Monday, get proofs out on Wednesday, deliver printed sheets to bindery by Friday, and have 500 books ready to ship by noon on Tuesday. But Murphy's Law prevailed. Just when all seemed under control, our client called in a panic, requesting that a set of six transparencies be produced and inserted in the brochure pocket. The lightning speed turnaround combined with the looming three-day holiday weekend resulted in our normal resources being booked. So our Customer Service Representatives - aka Project Gurus - efficiently tracked down a transparency supplier via the Internet. Files were shipped to Ohio on Thursday and completed transparencies were delivered to Whitmore early Tuesday. By 11 am that day, 500 finished books were sitting on the client's loading dock. What do you do when your client is ready to throw in the towel? Pick it up and provide a good solution! That's what happened when our client, a respected national toy store chain, could not get their monthly event calendars, a critical store marketing program, printed and distributed through their distribution center in time to promote store activities across the country. While the printing aspect of the job was well within Whitmore's scope of capabilities, we asked for the opportunity to solve their distribution problem. We quickly came to the conclusion that Whitmore could save time and money, and guarantee distribution if we bypassed the client's delivery system and set up one where we would be responsible for the results. We did a cost analysis of delivery systems and analyzed the methods for follow-up. Whitmore then developed a tailored distribution system that would insure accountability and on-time deliveries around the country. Printing Rx

This is the case of a great idea that needed some great minds to make it work. Our client, a large regional hospital, wanted to produce a quality color wall calendar that was beautiful to look at, but was also utilitarian, as it featured multiple pockets that were to be created to hold important medical information. At the request of the client, Whitmore convened a meeting of our manufacturing planner, salesperson, and customer service representative to review the goals of this particular job... and find a way to make it work! After numerous dummies and repeated cost analyses, Whitmore's prescription resulted in an elegant and innovative four color calendar that answered the needs of the client and did not break the bank.
