Scans
Different images need to be scanned at different resolutions in order to guarantee quality printing for your photos. A general rule of thumb is to use twice the line screen at the given reproduction size. If you do not have this information, choose 350 DPI as the default. Tip: Always try to scan at 100 percent of size to be placed in file. In contrast, line art should be scanned at a default of 1200 DPI. This is because line art is very dependent on resolution for quality, due to the fact that there are no shades to create a smoothing effect between neighboring pixels. If you're not certain what resolution you should use, simply call us for some quick advice - we're always glad to help.
